Making the Connection

Making the Connection is a communal sculpture project. It gives people the opportunity to participate in the construction of a large-scale sculpture using low tech, everyday materials.

Using plastic plumber's tubing and elbow joints, participants are encouraged to add to a free flowing drawing that explores the space that it exists in. Making the Connection is made from one continuous line of over 300 metres of tubing.

The final artwork is as much about the activity of making as the outcome. Its form is completely dependendent on people's engagement with it. Thank-you to all those who have participated in its journey. Here is the story so far:
